AMERICANS AND GEOGRAPHY

It is a well-known fact among Europeans that when it comes to geography most Americans are pretty much clueless. Why? Not sure. GLI AMERICANI E LA GEOGRAFIA

Fra noi europei si mormora che, quando si tratta di geografia, la maggior parte degli americani si trova in difficolta’. Come mai? Non so. Forse e’ perche’ “gli americani non hanno mappe”, come suggeri’ brillantemente l’anno scorso Miss Teen South Carolina nel seguente video www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww O forse e’ perche’ il livello medio di istruzione negli Stati Uniti e’ qualitativamente inferiore a quello di un alunno di quinta elementare, come insinua lo show televisivo “Sei piu’ intelligente di un bambino di quinta elementare?” (vedere video per credere http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEP7uti0PDw La concorrente prima dice che l’Europa e’ un paese, poi che a Budapest si parla francese, anche se forse non e’ in Francia… cercate di non piangere).
